Asisat Oshoala to Speak at FIFA Women’s Football and Leadership Conference

Prolific Super Falcons and Liverpool Ladies FC forward, Asisat Oshoala, is among a list of high-profile speakers confirmed for the second edition of the FIFA Women’s Football and Leadership Conference. The event is scheduled to take place at the Zurich headquarters of FIFA on Monday 7 March.

The conference themed “Equality Through Reform”, will bring together diverse voices from sports and the wider society. In a media release, discussions will focus on “ways in which women’s football and women in football can be further promoted – particularly in light of recent reform proposals.”

The statement from FIFA reveals the conference “which coincides with the annual celebration of international Women’s Day…is part of FIFA’s commitment to promote, develop and invest in women’s football so that the sport and those who play it can grow to their full potential across the world.”

Asisat Oshoala will be part of a panel of speakers who will discuss “Taking women’s football to the next level”.

Other speakers will include former tennis pro Billie Jean King, Amanda Davies (CNN Sports Anchor/Correspondent), Abby Wambach (USA national team player), Felicite Rwemarika (Executive member and chairwoman of the Women’s Football Commission at the Rwanda Football Association), among others
